Hurricane Season
Hurricane season has official begun, and we are busy preparing for any potential threats this summer. As you are aware, we are the 'bay side' of Miami Beach which is somewhat protected, however every boat in SYHC this summer should have a hurricane plan. Luckily, our full-time staff pays close attention to any potential storms, and takes action to notify and secure any boats at SHYC that decide to ride out any storms. Now is a good time to check with your insurer for 'Named Storm Coverage' as most insurers change their policies year to year. For information on any potential storms this season, check out this link to the Mid-Atlantic Weather Station

Did you know that SHYC offers Transient Slips as well as Transient Leases (monthly, semi-annual, & annual)? That is correct! SHYC is perfectly located in the heart of South Beach, walking distance to all of the attractions including Lincoln Road, the Miami Beach Convention Center, the Jackie Gleason Theatre, and Ocean Drive! And that is not all, for services, there could not be a better place to enjoy your yacht. Across the street we have a Publix Supermarket, liquor store, dry-cleaners (including same day service), Office Depot, many restaurants and much more.

Did you know that SHYC is an Equity Membership Yacht Club? Every slip in the marina is owned by an Equity Member, and has access to their slip for their use, or may place their slip into our rental pool to share in the rental revenue. If you are interested in more information in becoming an Equity Member, please respond to this email, or call the office at 305.398.6800. Here is something to ponder, every year boat manufactures make new boats . . . how many new marinas do you see being built to accommodate all of the new boats?
